Straight Answers.

Attar is oil-based fragrance. No alcohol. The fragrance compounds are blended into a carrier oil — which means it bonds with your skin instead of evaporating off it. Attars have been made in India for over 500 years. The format works. We just modernised the product.
Regular EDTs and EDPs use alcohol as a carrier — which evaporates fast, can dry your skin, and fades within 2–4 hours. Attar uses oil — it bonds with your skin, lasts 6–10 hours, and smells more natural as the day progresses. The tradeoff: attar stays close to skin. It won't fill a room. That's by design — office-appropriate, not occasion-wear.
6–10 hours on most skin types. Oil-based attars don't evaporate like alcohol-based sprays — they bond with your skin and release slowly. How long depends on your skin type (dry skin absorbs oil faster; oily skin holds scent longer) and the specific attar. Subha is the lightest. Shaam is the longest-lasting.
Approximately 2–3 months with once-daily application on 2–3 pulse points. A 10ml roll-on contains roughly 200 applications. You use much less per application than a spray — no waste, no overshoot.
Roll on 2–3 pulse points — wrists, behind ears, base of throat. Do not rub. Oil activates through body heat, not friction — rubbing breaks down the fragrance molecules before they can develop properly. Let it sit. The scent opens in layers over the first 15–20 minutes.
Depends on when you wear it most. Subha for mornings — fresh, clean, office-safe. Din for the workday stretch — woody, complex, holds up in AC. Shaam for evenings — dark, warm, long-lasting. If you want one versatile all-day attar, Din. If you want the one that makes you most identifiable, Shaam.
Yes. Subha + Shaam is a strong combination — the fresh top of Subha on one wrist and Shaam's warmth on the other. Din layers well under both. Don't apply more than 2–3 rolls total when layering — these are concentrated oils.
All three are unisex. Subha is the most universally neutral. Din is aromatic and woody — traditionally more masculine-coded, but works on any skin. Shaam is dark and warm — gender-neutral in Indian fragrance culture. Wear whichever smells right on you.
No alcohol, no parabens, no SLS. Most people with sensitive skin tolerate oil-based attars well — better than alcohol-based sprays, which can cause dryness or irritation. If you have known fragrance sensitivities, do a patch test on the inner wrist and wait 24 hours before regular use.
We're working on making COD available. Currently, we accept prepaid orders via UPI, cards, and net banking. Prepaid orders get priority dispatch — within 2 business days.
We accept returns only for products that arrive damaged or defective — not for personal scent preference (fragrance is subjective, and we can't resell opened bottles). If your order arrives damaged, WhatsApp us within 3 days of delivery with your order ID and an unboxing video. We'll resolve it immediately.

Cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The roll-on cap keeps it sealed. Shelf life is 3 years from manufacturing date. Don't leave it in a hot car.

Returns & Cancellations

What can be returned?

We accept returns only for products that arrive damaged or defective, or products that differ materially from what was ordered.

What cannot be returned?

  • Products that have been used, opened, or had their seal broken
  • Products not in original packaging with intact labels
  • Products purchased on sale or at a discounted price
  • Returns raised due to personal scent preference — fragrance is subjective; WhatsApp us before ordering if you're unsure

Unboxing video — mandatory

For any damage or missing product claim, you must provide an unboxing video of the unopened package. Claims without an unboxing video cannot be processed. This protects both you and us.

How to raise a return

WhatsApp us within 3 days of delivery with: your order ID, a photo of the damaged or defective product, and your unboxing video. Returns raised after 3 days will not be accepted.

Refunds

Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to the original payment method. COD orders are refunded via bank transfer — share your account details when raising the return.

Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled within 12 hours of placement via WhatsApp only. After 12 hours, your order is in processing and cannot be cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel orders due to stock unavailability or address verification failure, with a full refund.

Shipping

Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days. Pan-India delivery in 2–7 business days via Speed Post or courier. Free shipping on prepaid orders above ₹999. We're working on making Cash on Delivery available — when offered, COD orders carry a ₹49 handling fee.

Fraud & scam alert

Beware of fraudsters impersonating Purani Gali delivery agents and requesting additional payment or card details. We will never ask for payment outside our official checkout. If you receive a suspicious call or message, do not share any financial information — contact us immediately at puranigali.fragrance@gmail.com.

Who we are

Purani Gali is a fragrance brand based in India. We sell oil-based attar roll-ons directly to customers across India. For data queries: puranigali.fragrance@gmail.com

What we collect

When you place an order: your name, email, phone number, and delivery address. When you browse our website: standard analytics data (pages visited, session duration, device type) via cookies.

Consent

When you provide personal information to complete a purchase, you consent to our collecting and using it for that purpose. For secondary uses such as marketing, we will either ask for your explicit consent or give you the option to opt out. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting puranigali.fragrance@gmail.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing already completed.

How we use it

Order fulfillment and delivery updates. Customer support. Measuring ad performance — we run ads on Meta and Google; both platforms use a tracking pixel/tag to measure whether someone who saw our ad placed an order. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics tag. These tools record anonymised browsing behaviour and help us understand which ads are working. You can opt out of Meta ad tracking at facebook.com/adpreferences and Google tracking at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy. Disabling these does not affect your ability to use the site.

Third parties we share data with

  • Razorpay — payment processing (they handle card/UPI data; we never see your card details)
  • Courier partners — name, phone, and address shared for delivery
  • Meta and Google — anonymised ad measurement only

Payment security

All payments are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. All transactions are SSL-encrypted. We never store your card or UPI details.

Data retention

Order records are retained for 3 years as required under Indian GST law. Marketing data is deleted upon request.

Your rights
